I'll miss the shade

I'll miss the shade of the outside break area. I won't miss all the noise.

Even though there is still stuff outside, the wind was whistling through out. It was very ghost like.

My shelves are mostly packed. Tomorrow they are trucked over to the new location & then I get to unpack.

Still need to pack up my desk & soon I say good bye to my cave. I have loved my cave & so grateful that I had it as long as I did. I know my new enclosure will be just as fabulous. I can hardly wait.

So much I won't miss:
The dirt, the ducking under doors, fighting with the sliding dock door, the paint smells, the trucks, the super duper steep stairs, people grabbing stuff off the shelf, people taking just a part of an item leaving the rest unsalable. I don't need to go on.

I really can't say what I will miss. Everything is going to be improved. I am totally good. I've been given 1/2 day Friday for pouting. No need. All is good. No pouting required.

I never was one to look back.

Dolly has a brand new dress

So far no one seems to want to play with the blonde doll. They prefer the brunette. I'm thinking it has to do with the big old yellow baby sack she was wearing. Today I used left over fabric & made this dress with Velcro closure. Maybe now she'll be more popular.

Packing up

Spent the morning cleaning out files & packing up the office. Found the old framed pics they gave me when I moved back to my cave.

Here is Miss T. Days long gone never to return, but oh my! What fun we had!

Flash from the past

This was part of the sewing supplies Joey gave me from his grandmother (may she rest in peace).

Don't know if the picture is clear enough. The spool says Woolworth. It's been a few decades since they closed. I can barely remember Woolworths. It was an old fashion five and dime store. A good place to get sewing supplies. I think it could be compared to Big Lots on a smaller scale. As I recall, they had a small place where you could get something to eat.

I miss the old places I use to shop.

9 hours Saturday Dress

Can't believe I made the dress in one day. I altered the pattern so I wouldn't have the deep neck. I also had to rip out and redo a few times as it was loose in the shoulders & gapping in the front neckline.

I am happy with the finished product and it is really comfortable.

Too soon for Halloween?

She was filthy. I put her in the washer. That was a bad thing.

She is now headless. Clean but headless.

Productive day!

Surprising day. I finished sewing the dress that I love. So comfortable.

I trimmed all the rose bushes and my basil

Love me some fresh basil.
Visited mommy in law for a couple hours & got some knitting done.

And I also whipped up an apron. Far from perfect but only because I ran out of fabric. The important thing is that it's functional.

I still need to bring in the laundry & that finishes up my Saturday. Hopefully I can finish current story tomorrow.

I can see you

5 5

Sizing: Feels true to size

Width: Feels true to width

Pros: Comfortable, Stylish

Best Uses: Travel, Casual Wear, Wet Weather, Work, Cold Weather, Going Out

Describe Yourself: Conservative, Comfort-oriented

I ordered 1/2 size larger than I normally wear for these boots. They were very nice and lined for extra comfort. The sole of the boots are not smooth which helps prevent slipping. Love these boots. I'm buying a 2nd pair.

Pinned

Love it and I think it's going to fit. I was able to save the bodice from yesterday. Miss E should be here shortly. Time to bring out the knitting needles.

New Fabric

Great day to be shopping at JoAnns. Thanks much to the lady who gave me an additional 40% off coupon. I really did only go to buy fabric for another dress and an apron. But I found additional fabric on sale that I simply could not resist. The one with the polka dots is actually more of a lime green. A couple of zippers, thread for the serger, and the good news is that I did leave without looking at the yarn and knitting accessories.

I realize this pattern with the little snowmen can only be worn during the winter season, but it was just cute and I couldn't resist. The plaid fabric is for an apron.
All the fabric is now washed and ironed. I need to find instructions on how to thread the serger as I've misplaced that. Miss E is coming at 4:30. The chicken is ready to be popped in the oven for roasting. I have no idea if any sewing will actually get done today. I'm going to take apart the dress I made yesterday and try out my idea for the skirt on the bodice before I cut the new white fabric. It is Egyptian cotton and was a bit pricey. I don't want to end up trashing that because my idea didn't work out.

My happy place

The idea was nice

I loved the fabric & the idea However the pattern had freakey pockets. I thought they would be a problem & I was right.

As you can see, it didn't come together & the size was still wrong. The bodice top is to deep for me to wear to work & it tended to slide off the shoulder. The skirt was tight enough to show rolls I didn't even know I had.

The good news is that the zipper went in just fine. I think it's my best zipper install ever.

I can't save this dress because of the funky pockets but I can scrap it out for the cabbage patch dress I'll make someday.

The birds garden

I was a little surprised at what I found growing in the rain gutters at the warehouse.
