Redemption Winner!!!

What an excititng moment. I can't believe I did it! 50,000 words in 30 days
and although it is a rought draft, it's not a bad story at all. I kind of like it a lot. The story isn't completed. Not far from the end but it will need a couple more days at the very least to come to an end.

Yes, I will let you all read it but not as it stands now. This is just the rough draft. Once it gets cleaned up and goes through another rewrite, then I'll print it out and let you read it. That's not going to happen for a while. Once I finish it, the draft needs to be put to bed for six weeks and then I'll begin again.

For now, I'm going to get back to some knitting, watch some good movies and then start back on the short stories.
As soon as I do my happy dance.

nanowrimo

Holy moley, I cannot believe that it is already two weeks into Novemeber. I am so behind my goal words for writing the novel in 30 days. I'm ready to give up and yet not cause a little voice in me says "Yes I can, Yes I can." and you know what? I think I can. At the moment I think that. When I sit down to write, that may be a whole different story but I love the little surprises that the characters spring on me. I thought it was the drug addict that knew the pedophile and it turns out that the gold digger is the target of the hit man. Didn't see that one coming.

I take note of what Stephen King said in his book on writing. Basically he said that if he can stay on edge and doesn't know what is going to happen, he's pretty sure his readers will also be in suspense. That's where I am now. I don't really believe I'll make the time limit. I've got to many interruptions in my life to spend the time required as little as that time may be. To many distractions and I would quit now except... except I'm curious as to who is going to survive in my story. I know who I had planned to. I know how the story is suppose to end... but those characters take on a life of their own. Things change. I know how its suppose to end, but I want to know how it really ends.

This is a wild ride. I encourage you all to take the challenge next year. Woo Hoo!

word puzzle - anyone up for it?

Hmmm. I'm thinking my fingers may have been on the wrong keys when I typed that on the Alpha Smart. I didn't even realize it at the time. I only found it because I was going back to see what I had named someone. I wonder what the heck it was suppose to say.
I need someone to break the code for me. Who's up to the challenge?

distractions

How does one write when there are little ones about twirling the chair back and forth climbing up the back of the chair?? How does one go to that special place? The story place where the villains live? The distractions? Can’t close the door. She knows how to open them now. The house calls to me, the reverend is in and a sacrifice must be made but who or what is sacrificed? That is the question we ask.

National Novel Writing Month

This is it. This is my first year participating in the National Novel Writing Month. The challenge is that you write 50,000 words in 30 days. Day One I accomplished 2,150 words. Woo Hoo! Thrilled that I accomplished my goal for day 1. The easy part was that I had all day to give to it. Tomorrow will really show what I have or don't have since it is a work day and by the time I have time to really give it, I will probably be brain dead.

Daylight Savings is in effect so I'm hoping the extra hour will give me th extra boost I need.
Wish me luck!
