Tillie pressed her fingers to her lips. Sasha tip-toed on the carpet making her way to the door. “Who’s in there?” she whisperd.
A dull sound of glass breaking came from under the door’s visible crack. Heavy footsteps came closer.
“Run, Sasha.” Tillie grabbed her Sasha’s shirt and yanked her alongside as she dashed along the walls and around the corner.
“Stop.” Sasha pulled away. She bent over resting her elbows on her knees panting heavily. “Who are we running from?”
“Mrs. Rochester.” Tillie, breathing quite heavily as well, gave Sasha a bellowing look as if she should already know this. “I wanted to know if she was going to say anything about the incident.”
Sasha’s eyes widen. “Sometimes you shouldn’t ask the question. You may not like the answer.”
Tillie stood a little taller. “Do you know?”
