Today's prompt is:
Footsteps padded down the hallway.
Boom Town by Kayleen WestHe was sexy, I'll admit it, all lean, corded muscle, covered in glistening sweat and tattoo ink, the very poster boy for everything my father would hate, and my eyes ate up every inch of him. Then he went and ruined a four-hundred dollar dress. That's not something I'm going to forgive and forget.
That's where it all started, an illegal fight in the desert, too much to drink, and then my father's idea of consequences.
I got myself in trouble. That was me, but my father pulled strings to make it so much worse. I wound up with community service, working under the direction of a certain bad boy fighter, who just so happens to have a heart of gold. Who knew? I was supposed to learn a lesson, and I probably did, but I also fell hopelessly stupid in love.
Jokes on you, dad!
There's just one problem.
There's no way in h*ll my father will let me have the last laugh, or let his daughter love a man from the wrong side of the tracks. He'll do anything to break us up.
